Thanks to everyone who attended the 2024 East Coast Invitational. Special thanks to our hosts Hoka and Marathon Sports. A link to the results is below.

The meet featured several outstanding performances, including West Warwick’s Lisa Raye. Raye became the first Rhode Island female high school athlete to run under 7.0 in the 55 dash. Here time of 6.94 establishes a new meet and state record.

Raye also broke the meet record in the 200 with a winning time of 24.52. The event was added to the East Coast in 2019.

On the boys side, Barrington’s Ethan Knight set a new mark in the 55 hurdles at 7.49. Knight edge out teammate Bobby Wind by just .01. Raf Campanile of Mt. Mansfield tied the meet pole vault record with a vault of 14-0 and Demetrius Outland of Central matched the high  jump mark, joining three others at 6-6.

Congratulations to Burlington’s Winslow Sightler, who broke the Vermont state record in the shot put with his runner-up toss of 60-3.75. He broke Isaiah Brunache’s record of 58-10 set last year. Sightler also beat his previous best this season by nearly three feet.

See you all in 2025.
