Record Year for the 2016 East Coast Track & Field Invitational
Thank you to all those who attended last years meet. The 5th annual promised to be the best one yet, and it delivered. Meet records fell, and there were a number of national level performances. The meet kicked off Friday night with the Championship Shuttle Hurdles. The boys from Uniondale NY shattered the meet record in a US#1 30.87! Sara Edwards, Bellingham MA, won the girls mile in a US#4 4:54.62! May Stern, Classical RI, won the girls 400m in 56.63, a US#16 performance. Who says you can’t run fast on a flat track? The boys and girls championship weight throw finals were a battle featuring numerous individuals ranked in the top 10 US rankings. Bobby Colantonio Barrington RI won the boys with a US leading 79′-5″, and Jill Shippee Shenendehowa NY, won the girls 53′-10″ A big thank you to all the teams who continue to come back year after year. You’ve help grow this meet into a highly competitive event.
