Five marks fall at 2026 East Coast 

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s East Coast Invitational and congratulations to the athletes who set or tied a combined six meet records.

Shelldon Simpson of Windsor led the way with two meet records. He took down the 55 dash record with a time of 6.43 and then came back to break the 400 record with a run of 49.71. Brody Smith (50.05) of Souhegan finished second and also came in under the previous meet record set in 2017.

Davian Johnson of East Hartford broke the meet record in the 55 hurdles, clocking in at 7.27. Shamrock Thoun of Woonsocket broke the meet record in the weight throw with a toss of 80-7.25.

And Jacob Smith of Fitch tied the meet record in the high jump with a leap of 6-06.

For the girls, Amber Shaw of Ponaganset set a new mark in the pole vault with a jump of 11-6.
